In search of the 'Lodge Lumps'

April 2005 and a new challenge has presented itself in the form of Lodge lake on the Bawburgh complex here in deepest Norfolk. The fishery is controlled by NACA, the Norfolk Anglers Conservation Association and is set to become one of the premier fisheries in the country (if it already isn't).  The complex consists of seven lakes and 1.5 miles of the upper river Yare, the main lakes are Colney at 24 acres, Bawburgh at 20 acres and Lodge at 29 acres. The larger lakes are home to Carp over 40lb's Pike to over 30lb's Tench over 11lb's and Bream over 18lb's. As you can see some nice fish to target.

My intentions are to target the residents of Lodge as these fish are still a bit of a mystery with a few 'reported' whackers!

I have so far only managed a quick overnight trip and another session of two nights and as yet there is nothing to report on the fish front for myself, in fact there have only been 4 fish out so far this year to my knowledge. I am under no illusions that this  is going to be hard graft especially as time will be limited and shared with my other syndicate water but I see this complex as a long term affair. I shall keep this page updated with any developments.
